Low Crime Rates-

Weakley County is a safe place to live.  The City of Martin, compared to other college communities in Tennessee, has a low crime rate.  

2009 City of Martin Crime Stats:
•    Murder and nonnegligent manslaughter – 0
•    Forcible Rape – 3
•    Robbery – 5
•    Aggravated Assault – 34
•    Property Crime Rate per 100,000 – 3863.5
•    Violent Crime Rate per 100,000 – 412.9

In 2009, the City of Martin reported NO murders, compared to Clarksville’s 16. Clarksville, Cookeville, Lebanon and Murfreesboro all had higher violent crime rates, and all but Clarksvillle (3,740.7 per 100,000) had higher property crime rates.
